The Task
Power Testing were asked to attend site to perform a replacement of 2 redundant transformers, in accordance with industry standards and manufacturers guidelines.
Following site visits PTL confirmed that the transformers will be removed and installed through the soft spots in the ceiling of the substation. Additional civil works have been included to excavate and expose the ceiling removable sections. The ground will be reinstated on completion of the works. The transformer needed to be lifted onto a concrete plinth within a new bunded area in the high voltage switch room. PTL made allowance to complete all lift and shift operations providing suitable support arrangements for the transformer during the installation process.
Power Testing made all of the necessary modifications and sourced all of the additional materials required for the existing LV switchboard, to ensure that the busbar ducting system and all associated cabling performed as expected.
