The Task
Power Testing Ltd completed the supply and installation of 8No 30metre long 240mm single core LV cables from the sites 11kV / 433V Transformer to the Main Incoming LV Switchboard. This was to replace the existing cable due to increased site demand.
A new cable support containment system was installed from the Transformer to the Main LV Panel. This was completed prior to any isolations to keep the power outage as short as possible.
On agreed shutdown dates a Power Testing Ltd SAP completed all the associated SAP duties and completed the isolation of the associated transformer to allow the below works to be carried out.
The existing LV supply cables were disconnected at the Main LV Panel & the associated Transformer. A new 1250A ACB & cabinet was installed close coupled to the existing transformer.
PTL utilised a specialist lift and shift contractor to remove the transformer enclosures roof to be able to final position the new ACB cabinet to the Transformer.
PTL will removed the existing LV endbox and completed the final connection of the ACB cabinet.
A cabling pulling contractor was utilised to install & cleat the 8no 240mm Single Core AWA LV cables. On completion a PTL jointing team completed the termination & final connection.
A Power Testing Ltd engineer completed the testing & commissioning of the newly installed cables & 1250A ACB & energise the Transformer returning it back to its normal operation.
