The Task
Power Testing sent a team comprised of four technicians and two engineers to Iceland for two weeks to carry out testing, preventative maintenance and inspections on the switchgear systems.
Whilst we handled the testing, all switching duties were carried out by Verne Global’s engineering team, supported by a member of their UK team.
Key steps included:
Verne Global safely isolating and re-energising parts of the system in a phased approach.
• Power Testing conducting inspections and tests once it was safe to do so.
• Coordinating with Verne’s customer team to keep data clients informed.
• Holding daily meetings between teams to plan and adjust the work schedule.
The job relied on close communication and clearly defined responsibilities between both teams.
This joint effort highlighted what’s possible when two experienced teams work together with a shared goal. Thanks to detailed planning and open communication, Power Testing and Verne Global completed a complex job without impacting live operations, a true success in collaborative engineering.
