Chris Park

Managing Director


Chris joined the family business in 1993 after serving his apprenticeship at GEC Marconi’s and worked his way through the ranks, becoming Managing Director in 2008. Throughout that time, Chris served as a fully trained SAP Engineer and takes pride in his detailed knowledge of Power Testing’s clients and their sites.

Chris now concentrates his time on overseeing the running of the business, nurturing long standing client relationships, forging new ones and ensuring customers benefit from a professional and competitive service at all times.

Alan Ager

Authorising Engineer


Alan has over 35 years in the HV Electrical industry and has been with Power Testing since 1989. Prior to becoming the company’s Authorising Engineer, Alan was Chief Engineer for 15 years and has worked on most, if not all of our clients sites over this period.

Highly experienced and qualified, Alan provides essential Health & Safety and technical advice to staff, including implementing our ‘Speak Up’ Workshops for all staff members, whilst also playing a leading role in staff development and training. As the company’s Authorising Engineer, he also undertakes regular competency assessments for all operational staff, linked in with be-spoke development plans to ensure our staff are always improving.

Alan has been instrumental in obtaining many accreditation for Power Testing, not least the ISO 18001 & ISO 9001 certifications.

Chris Williamson

Head of Projects


Chris joined Power Testing in 2003 and after successfully completing his 4 year apprenticeship, went on to become a highly valued member of the Power Testing engineering team.

Chris has managed many successful projects in his time as an engineer, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.

More recently Chris has become Head of Projects for Power Testing, successfully tendering for high value projects. Chris was part of the team that won Power Testing CBRE’s Supplier of the Year Award for Projects in 2017 and he continues to go from strength to strength.

Steve Gatward

Operations Manager for Normal Working Hours


Steve joined Power Testing in 2008 as a Cable Jointer, working on long term contracts for SSE. After 5 years as a Cable Jointer, Steve became highly skilled and Operationally aware.

Steve was Promoted to Contracts Manager in 2013 and successfully managed contracts with Thames Water Utilities and QineitQ, scheduling works and liaising with the clients to make sure all work was carried out on time, within budget and to a high standard.

In the last year, Steve has taken on the role of Operations Manager for Normal Working Hours, scheduling work for all operational staff members efficiently, ensuring their health and safety through writing RAMS and making sure works run as smooth as possible.

Steve White

Operations Manager for Out of Hours


Steve began his career with Power Testing in 1993 as the company’s Reports Administrator, quickly gaining technical knowledge and went on to become a highly competent Technician.

Over the last 25 years, Steve has taken on many successful projects such as managing the schedule and carrying out the inspections of Hazardous Areas at Thames Water sites across the South East. The success of this project led to Steve being appointed Operations Manager in 2010.

As Power Testing Limited has grown in recent years, the role of Operations Manager has grown alike and Steve has been able to devote his time to Out of Hours Works, scheduling efficiently, ensuring their health and safety through writing RAMS and making sure works run as smooth as possible.

Scott Conley

Northern Operations Manager


After joining Power Testing Limited in 2003 as an Apprentice, Scott became an invaluable member of the engineering team working on a number of significant projects and responsible for managing key clients such as OGS and Infinis. He ensured that all work’s were carried out on time and to a high standard, whilst building a long lasting and productive relationship with some of Power Testing’s most important clients.

More recently Scott has relocated to Manchester to manage the newly opened Northern Division of Power Testing Limited, extending our reach across the northern half of the UK and allowing us to offer our services further afield.

Patrick Templeman

Technical Manager


Patrick joined Power Testing Limited in 2005 and upon successfully completing his 4 year apprenticeship, became an integral part of the engineering team, excelling at commissioning.

As a highly skilled and experienced engineer, Patrick has worked on many large projects with Balfour Beatty, DP World and BNP Paribas, taking on the role of Commissioning Manager for Power Testing Limited.

More recently Patrick has taken on the role of Technical Manager, supporting operational staff and customers with on site queries and offering sound and competent advice. In addition Patrick has been responsible for Power Testing Limited becoming NICEIC accredited, becoming the NICEIC Duty Holder.

Patrick has continued his education, gaining a variety of qualifications and working towards his Bachelor in Engineering.

Jim Randall

Lead Estimator


Jim joined Power Testing Limited in 2006, heading up the Pricing and Procurement department, initially going out on site with Technicians and Jointers to get some practical experience.

Jim has been working in the Estimating Department for the last 12 years, responsible for issuing quotes to customers, understanding their requirements, what materials are required and what timescales they are working to as well as forging strong client relationships.

In addition to his role as Estimating Manager, Jim has taken on responsibility for carrying out Customer Satisfaction Surveys in line with our ISO 9001 accreditation, so we as a company can identify where we are getting it right and where there may be an opportunity to improve. Our Customer Satisfaction Survey rating in 2017 was a proud 98%.

Nick Pennock

Contracts Manager


Nick has been with Power Testing since 1996 and through that time has become one of our most experienced and knowledgeable Engineers / SAP’s. His expertise and personable nature has made him a favourite amongst our clients, so much so that Nick has recently taken on the role of Contracts Manager, looking after several of the company’s largest and longest serving clients, such as OGS and Infinis. With detailed knowledge of their sites, he is hugely valued.

Gareth Davies

Contracts Manager


Gareth has been involved in the electrical engineering industry since 1991. He joined Power Testing in 2016 and has already become an integral part of the engineering team. Gareth was previously a client at Thames Water and has always been attracted to the kind of work Power Testing undertook. After leaving Thames Water, where he was an SAP, he joined EDL Energy, where he was the electrical duty holder for the company. Since joining Power Testing, he has been instrumental in recent contract awards for both Thames Water and Anglian Water, as well as becoming the company’s Authorising Officer.

Rob Knight

Contracts Manager


Rob served his electrical apprenticeship at Thames Water from 2006, excelling and working his way up from Technician to an SAP Engineer within 6 years. After brief stints at TFL and HVMS, Rob joined Power Testing in 2016 and has become an integral part of our engineering team. As well as being a hugely competent SAP, he has thrived in our environment and developed his protection testing skills among others. Rob was also instrumental in winning the Thames Water maintenance contract and has been elevated to Contracts Manager for one of our longest serving clients.

Brendan Bignell

Finance Manager


After graduating from Bournemouth University in 2013, Brendan joined Power Testing as a Finance Administrator. Over the coming years, Brendan has progressed to become our Finance Manager, following successful completion of his ACCA exams. Brendan has worked on our internal processes, helping to establish the quality requirements our industry demands.

Brendan’s role not only deals with internal issues, but he is also involved with Operations, assisting with Projects and educating the team on commercials.

Brad Manning

HR Manager


Brad joined Power Testing in 2015 having been in the advertising industry for 10 years. His passion for people and effective communications led him to the world of HR. CIPD qualified, Brad has put a lot of his learning into practice at Power Testing Ltd, ensuring all our people have a greater understanding of their roles, responsibilities and what the company is trying to achieve as well as ensuring the company is compliant in all employment law matters.
